Le France's terrace sits five metres from the quay, separated from the trawlers by nothing more than a narrow road. In Collioure, restaurants look out over the painters' bay. In Port-Vendres the setting is different: a living, working harbour, authentic and unstaged. Trawlers come in each morning, fishermen unload their catch, gulls circle overhead. That raw, everyday spectacle is what you look at while you eat.

The food at Le France follows the same spirit: honest and unfussy. Flame-grilled sardines, fish soup with rouille and croutons, fried anchovies with aioli — seaside Catalan recipes that pair naturally with a glass of white Banyuls or red Collioure. Under new ownership since late 2025, Franck Fulliquet has put the restaurant back on these simple, solid foundations.
